Absolute legend
They, Roy , and Danny, please tell me if you know any better improvise's than these two, guitar type, nothing to do with it! Damn if I could cover up a cock up like these geniuses
One of the finest bands I’ve ever seen how do you get that much talent in one place
The king of the kings!!!!!❤
I know that this boys grandparents (Marc and Ann Savoy) as so proud of him.
He’s of no relation to Marc and Ann
@@superfishially Max isnt Jo-El's son?
sorry Wilson's Son. I always get the two Savoy sons mixed up.
he sure does resemble joel
There’s a lot of talent on that stage
The next gen ! Tradition in good hands
DANNY WAS ONE OF THE BEST GUITARISTS 🎉
man this kids killin' it
Keyboard/Sax guy looks like the love child of John Candy and George Lucas (and he absolutely RIPS btw)
woooooww incredible.... all of them
I do think if Danny would have stayed focused he’d still be alive! Stay focused at all cost!!!
Mental illness is no joke.
@@superfishially my youngest son of two, died of accidental overdose. Yes addiction is the most horrible thing to experience for the patient and his parents and family.
I saw Danny Gatton play live one summer night in Quebec City, many, many years ago. Never heard of the guy before. Needless to say, the very next day I went to buy his CD at the nearest music store.
Without that sax no boogie-woogie, what a beast! 👏👏👏
Awesome, kiddo!!! 👏👏👏👏
I downloaded sounds directly into my iPad (took forever) and everything seems to work okay
Cant remember ever heard of the guy.
Well seasoned professionals!!! Awesome!!!
Southern Marylands finest
George lucas on sax, everybody!
George Lucas on Sax ?
Of course Danny Gatton…….but that sax solo. Wow
How in the absolute hell does he play with the towel??!!??!!
Force de nature! Yay!! 👍👍
Fun, fun, fun music! So infectious!
2:00 George Lucas on sax
Austin City Limits just brings out the best and is a really good platform for guitar pickers.
Wow!
Wow
Insanity
Cool to see John Candy on Sax!
The towel was so the kids on the front row wouldn't steal his licks.
“he soldered the wires himself” wow! way too much of a show off for me.
A family friend and the guitarist in my mom’s band (the Swing Riders) in the Maryland/DC area in the late 70s gave me vhs copies of ACL performances to expose me to great players when I started playing guitar around age 12. One tape had this particular legendary set and I was so blown away at the time. I thought bill holloman reminded me of John Candy from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles lol. Danny was at the height of his powers and tone and was just a one-man wrecking crew. Add in his band, and nobody could stop him. I still grin every time he says, “that’s as high as it goes”. R.I.P. Danny. Best fusion of styles and best telecaster player ever.
Yes when he cried it was very touching
Was he crying?
Love his playing of course but his son is an incredible drummer
Jimmy Bryant was a great Tele picker.
This song is actually called Grand Mamou
Breathtaking! Danny Gatton was amazing in every way.
Holy fuckin' shit! Such a polished, tight ass rendition. Man, I tell you what!
Some of the HOTTEST sax jam I ever heard
Здорово 👍 рок 🎸 ролл твист рокобилли буги вуги шейк навсегда здорово 👍
Everyone was smokin!!! 🎸🎹🎷🎤🥁
SUPERB!
Saw him play in Leesburg, Va. back in the day. He and the band were set set up on a flatbed trailer. While he was playing, and being a guitar player myself , I remember thinking , wait , how did he just do what he did while playing? I was standing 15 ' from him. He was lightning fast in his volume, tone adjustments and string bending. Also remember him checking my ID at the Crazy House bar in Georgetown, Wash DC.
Horse
Not here to hate on Danny he was a great guitarist. But I will say, gimmicks are what you do when you don't have the songs.
Saw that same group same year at the Montreal Jazz Festival in an outdoor concert in the streets (I was so close I could almost smell his beer) and taped the whole show on a Panasonic walkman...so the cassette is somewhere in my house. In late December 94 I was visiting my brother in L.A. and they were showing people who died that year on TV and I saw Danny Gatton scrolling among them and could'nt believe it!
The whole band is fantastic.
